- Connect on device with camera. We recommend you join using a Laptop on Chrome browser for best experience. We have noticed intermittent issues with mobile/tablet devices.
- If you want to switch your audio device midway through the session (e.g. from airpods to computer mic), please leave and rejoin the session as it might not auto switch.
- In case of any issues, just leave the class (by clicking the leave button on bottom right), close your browser and join again (don’t refresh). This can solve 90% of the issues.
Here are few tips to ensure the best streaming quality for your classes:
- Make sure your browser is up-to-date. Running the latest version of any browser will guarantee a more stable experience. Generally browsers will update in the background. To check, or manually update, you can follow these instructions: Chrome, Safari. We strongly recommend you use Chrome browser for best experience.
- Use Incognito mode: For example, if you have browser extensions, they might block your camera. Incognito mode, which does not load extensions, allows you to cleanly load the call.
- Restart your browser: If you have not closed your browser in a while, it’s useful to restart it. Also, try not to have a lot of tabs open during a call. That can bog down your computer.
- Restart your computer: Restarting clears temporary cache and resets network settings. It also frees up computer memory for heavy tasks such as video calls.
- Limit background tasks: Try to limit running tasks in other applications. For example, no YouTube while you’re in a video call. Close applications that may be using up your internet, like Dropbox.
- Move closer to your router: Move as close to your router as possible. Walls, furniture, and distance (computer to router) can limit the quality of your connection.
- Make sure no one else is using WiFi for heavy tasks: For the duration of your class, make sure that no one else in your home is using WiFi for any heavy tasks such as YouTube streaming, video calling or even normal calling over internet.
- Use Ethernet: If you can, use an ethernet connection instead of WiFi. We know that this is not ideal, but if you have access to ethernet, use it! Ethernet will offer a consistent experience for all internet activity. WiFi is subject to noise and interference.
- Use a 5Ghz network: If possible, switch to a 5Ghz network should you have one in your home. 5Ghz offers faster speeds than 2.4Ghz. If not, then don’t worry about this.
- Connect your laptop/phone to charger: Video calls consume battery very quickly so make sure to keep your laptop/phone connected to the charger while streaming
With that said, all of these are recommendations. You don’t need to do everyone of these steps. But we don’t want you to take a chance and so we provided these guidelines.
